At Unpaved Coaching, we transform athletic dreams into achievable goals. Our approach is all about growth through consistency. With a structured cycle of planning, executing, checking, and adjusting, we help you create a sustainable balance between life and training.

In addition to preparing athletes for their first triathlon or achieving a personal best in a half marathon, we specialize in equipping our clients for the adventure of a lifetime. Our training programs and expert guidance are specifically designed for outdoor challenges, including multi-day hikes and cycling expeditions. We are committed to helping you push your limits while maintaining a fit and healthy approach to your goals

Meet The Coach.

Driven by a passion for endurance sports, Chris created Unpaved Coaching to support motivated individuals with a personalized, data-driven approach to training.  He has a natural enthusiasm and a deep-rooted background in coaching individuals towards high level growth, while working towards goals with balance in mind.

As a dedicated endurance athlete himself, Chris believes in the importance of maintaining balance in training and life. He is eager to support his clients to set realistic goals and achieve them through consistency and dedication.

Before starting Unpaved, Chris spent 4 years as a high-performance coach within the Royal Netherlands Air Force working one-on-one with students in a high stress environment to create and complete training programs. He is an accredited trainer through the Netherlands Triathlon Society (NTB) and has a diploma in Exercise Physiology.

In addition to his expertise in conventional endurance sports, Chris has a deep passion for outdoor adventures. His extensive experience includes serving as a former military officer, hiking a thousand consecutive miles on the Pacific Crest Trail, and currently working as a Trip Leader for Backroads, the world’s leading active travel company.

Our personalized training program is ideal for those seeking structured guidance and direction to achieve a specific short-term objective. Following your intake consultation, you will receive a detailed a three monthly, week-by-week plan delivered through our professional coaching platform, TrainingPeaks.

Additionally, you can schedule complimentary equipment consultation to ensure you are fully prepared – whether for a mountain expedition, a bike-packing trip, or any sports event of your choice. This holistic approach ensures that you are equipped both mentally and physically for succes.

Intermediate Coaching Plan

Our Intermediate Coaching Plan offers a comprehensive, holistic approach, designed to help you achieve your athletic objectives and keep you progressing toward your goals.

With this plan, you will receive a monthly personalized training program that includes sport-specific core stability workouts and dedicated monthly coaching calls to provide guidance, feedback and support.

Through TrainingPeaks Premium, you’ll have unlimited access to your training data, workout schedules and notes from your coach. Additionally, you can schedule optional race or equipement consultations to help you prepare effectively for your season’s primary goal.

Advanced Coaching Plan

Take your goals to the next level.

Our Advanced Coaching Plan is designed for individuals seeking to balance their athletic goals with busy lives, as well as those looking for intensive, personalized coaching to achieve their desired results.

This plan includes weekly contact with your coach, detailed workout analysis, and adjustments to your training plan every other week to ensure it aligns with your evolving needs. Using the TrainingPeaks Premium coaching platform, you’ll have seamless access to your workouts, performance data, training schedules, and direct communication with your coach – making your training experience efficient and stress-free.

In addition, you will benefit from race or event-specific guidance, professional equipement consultation, and the option to incorporate a tailored Functional Strength and Conditioning Program to further support your success.
